Caroline (Clay) Stacey Sculptor ARBS 1931-2022

Biography

Caroline was born in 1931 in London. She was a pupil of the Austrian emigree artist Georg Ehrlich (1887 - 1866) from 1942 - 1959. He stayed a close friend.


In 1957 she studied Life modelling, anatomy, casting at Sir John Cass, Whitechapel


In 1970 she went to Paris to study Life drawing at Beaux Arts, Paris


From 1975-85 she was a Gallery artist with Alwyn Gallery, Grafton St, Mayfair


From 1982-91 she was  ‘Artiste en permanence’ with Bernheim-Jeune, Faubourg St

Honoré, Paris


In 1982 she  was shortlisted for the Paul-Louis Weiller prize


In 1992 she was elected associate member of Royal Society of British Sculptors
